There are two basic types of currency in Farmville: Coins and Farm Cash. Farm Cash is a rather recent addition to the game. It allows the farmer to purchase more elite items. For example, during the Alien Invasion, the Flying Saucer was only buyable with Farm Cash. Other rare items and structures are cost more and comple you to purchase more or save up your Farm Cash.
Additional Farm Coins and Farm Cash can be purchased with real cash through a credit card or Paypal. Farmville accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. It is not that hard to obtain coins. So, I strongly advise using your money on Farm Cash.
Coins
Coins are the basic currency that you will deal with most of the time. You use Farm Coins when you plow, plant and buy certain items for your farm. Your harvests are all in coins; when you harvest milk from a cow, you get coins into your account balance at the top left of your screen. The same goes for plants; if you harvest a lemon tree, you don’t receive lemons, you get rewarded with coins. Keeping an eye on your balance will help you in determning what crops to grow. At times you have to choose between planting a whole farm of a inexpensive crop or growing just a couple of squares of an expensive crop. Farm Cash
Farm cash is generated on your account at the rate of 1 a day, so DON’T SPEND YOUR FARM CASH ON ANYTHING YOU CAN BUY WITH COINS!!! . Seriously, you should at no time spend your Farm Cash without thinking carefully. There are special buildings, special farmville animals during events, fuel for your vehicles—wider variety of items that can only be purchased with Farm cash. Save your Farm Cash until you really need it!!! Only use it for rare objects during events that will help get more unique items. Unique animals such as the Baby Turkey which appeared during the Thanksgiving (although there is a Wild Turkey also available during this event as a Lost Animal) and decorations only offered during that event are examples of good purchases. Remember, it’s your farm so it should reflect your unique character.
When it comes to buying vehicles like a tractor or seeder, make sure that you’re able to handle the price of fuel. For your vehicle to serve its purpose, it needs fuel. Otherwise it will simply be a pricey decoration. You need to consider using your real money to purchase Farm Cash if you’re planning on having a large farm with several vehicles.
