Farmville Animal Guide

In Farmville there are two main kinds of animals: Livestock (which you can buy at the Market for coins or Farmville cash) and Lost Animals (which will show up on your farm from time to time).  One advantage of animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones.  You can be logged off as long as you like and when you come back, the animals will be waiting to be harvested.  Animals are uncomplicated and effortless to manage.  It is a good method of making money while taking pleasure in some variety on your farm.

Livestock

Your livestock choices at the Market are quite limited at the moment.  At present there are dairy cows, pigs, and white (regular) sheep. Pigs, dairy cows and the regular white sheep are the only animals which can be acquired at the Market.  New animals come out for a limited time on special events and holidays. Green cows now calledAlien Cow (formerly titled as BOV1NE-09) showed in the Market for 2400 coins.   A crop named “milktonium” which sells for 18 coins can be harvested from the green cows. The “Baby Turkey” was released during the American Thanksgiving. It turns into a mature Turkey when harvested for the first time.  The feathers which can be harvested every 2 days from full-grown Turkey can be sold at 80 coins per harvest.  Your friends can give you more exotic livestock as free gifts plus the regulars are offered there too.

The animals do not have the same harvest times.  You can harvest some animals every day while other animals require two, three or as many as 4 days.

Lost Animals

Farmville has an exciting feature which requires you to keep an eye on Facebook status updates to see whether your friends have stumbled upon any “lost animals”.  These lost animals will occasionally appear on your farm and ask for your help.   The introduction of Wild Turkey is an example. To commemorate American Thanksgiving, the makers of Farmville released it as a new “lost animal”.

The following caption will be shown upon the appearance of the Wild Turkey on your farm:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

The other “lost animals” in Farmville are:

*Ugly Duckling (transforms into a swan)

*Brown Cow (makes chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (produces strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (produces yarn)

*Turtle (produces eggs)

*Black Sheep (gives chocolate wool)

*Regular cows may show up on your farm as a lost animal. They are obtainable through the Market and can be given as a free item by your friends as well.

You will not be able to adopt these lost animals.  You can only help them by putting them up for adoption.   This is the perfect moment to use your other (if you have another one) Facebook account!

Log out and then place your the lost animal up for adoption.  Log in on your other account and quickly get the animal or else your friends might adopt it before you do!  So remember what I stated before, constantly look at your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animals.

Consider buying a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop if you’re obtaining plenty of cows and/or chickens.

These buildings provide a convenient way to keep the animals, and harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop has a space for 20 cows or chickens.
